This one isn’t too hard to solve.
If one 1/4 inch is equal to 20 miles, just find how many quarter inches there are in 3 1/2 in.
3 1/2 divided by 1/4 = 14 sets of 1/4
So then just multiply 14 by 20!
= 280 miles apart!

It should not be very detailed-though country names and cities would be preferable, I would not like airports, highways, etc. Does anyone know where I can get one? Would it be more convenient to draw it out myself?
